The Trumpeter
A simple game about a complex topic.
Can hardly call this a game, tho. It's more like an experience. Go around, talk to people, and see the story unfold.
Recent events inspired me to think "what would push someone to do this?", without falling into the ever so tired justification of irrationality, craziness, and bad apple allegories. I read a little about radicalization (pretty interesting!) and ended up creating this step-by-step rendering of a person who most likely doesn't exist, but if he does, he probably was present during the recent riot on the US capitol.
Certainly, we live in interesting times.
First time using the bitsy engine. Interesting way to craft small ideas. Just play it on the browser.
I wrote an entry on my blog talking about the development and the symbolism (only in spanish).

UU.
Ciertamente, vivimos tiempos interesantes.

how did you add the wavy scene change? im making games in bitsy and i would really like to know!
When you create an exit, you should click on the third button of the left panel (the one that should be a gear, but looks like a sun, next to the button of a pencil). From there you go to transition effect and select "wave", and that's all!
Hope this helps you! (and that you liked the game, also 😁)
thanks! and i did like the game!
Interesting. I am giving a short online presentation (probably recorded and posted somewhere) on Saturday. Would you allow me to use a couple of screenshots from the game in the presentation? I want to discuss this as an example of how Bitsy might be used for discussing current events.
Of course! I'll be glad if you use it, be my guest.
Would love to watch it when it's posted, too!
Great! Do you have an email I can contact you at?
Sure: gborzino@gmail.com or dm me on twitter at @ItsBorza
Thanks! I will be in contact
Awesome! Deep and immersive experience, I felt the rush of rushing the capitol
Thanks for playing!
I hope the police don't think of this as a call to revolution 😅😅😅😅
